The Victim/Witness Assistance Program provides training and technical assistance to county-based victim/witness programs in accordance with Chapter 950 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The program supports the standardization and professionalization of victim/witness services statewide.
Twice a year the Department offers reimbursement of a portion of the costs incurred by Chapter 950 victim/witness programs in providing services such as case progress and court appearance notification, restitution and compensation assistance, victim impact statement assistance, accompaniment to court, and social service referrals.
