Domestic Abuse Incident Reports
Under Wisconsin Statutes 968.075 (9), each county’s district attorney is required to provide data regarding domestic abuse incidents to the Department of Justice. The Office of Crime Victim Services compiles this data and makes it public by issuing an annual Domestic Abuse Incident Report.
The Wisconsin Domestic Abuse Incident Report was first published in 1991. Domestic violence statistics have been collected from counties and published in the Report for every year since 1989. The Wisconsin Domestic Abuse Incident Report has evolved over the years to a system that now pulls data automatically from each county’s data management system to include a greater range of statistical information while requiring less staff time at the county level.
