A half day training, Protecting Victims of Crime, will be held during the 2013 SPET Spring/Summer conference at the Osthoff Resort, 101 Osthoff Avenue, Elkhart Lake on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. The tentative agenda includes two ninety-minute sessions in the morning specifically dedicated to protecting victims of crime. The topic of the first session will be on trauma and its impact on victims and those who work with them. The topic of the second session will be on victim privacy and confidentiality. Afternoon sessions may be of interest to you as well and you are welcome to attend. An agenda will be posted in the near future.
Conference check-in during non-conference hours will be on Monday, May 13, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. and again Tuesday morning from 7:00-8:15 a.m.
A continental breakfast will be provided.
TRAINING MATERIALS
Printed materials will not be distributed during the training. Instructions will be provided to assist you in downloading the training materials within one week of the conference.
HOTEL INFORMATION
Lodging will be available on Monday evening, May 13 at either the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan (where the V/W conference will begin on Wednesday, 5/15) or the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake (where the Prosecutor & V/W training on Protecting Victims of Crime will be on Tuesday, 5/14.) In order to guarantee the state single occupancy rate of $70 will be direct billed to Dept. of Justice, you will need to contact the hotel of your choice directly to make your reservations AND provide them with the appropriate block information. REMEMBER: you will need to hold/confirm your reservations with a credit card, but the lodging will be placed on DOJ’s direct bill upon check-out.
