WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AGENTS PARTNER WITH SUPERIOR POLICE DEPARTMENT IN INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN OPERATION

Vern Michael Tucci

SUPERIOR – Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation along with the Superior Police Department executed a search warrant on November 19, 2008 and arrested Vern Michael Tucci at 4923 E. Itasca Drive, Superior, WI. Mr. Tucci was charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

During authorized undercover Internet operations, a DCI Special Agent identified a computer in Wisconsin that was offering to participate in the distribution of known child pornography. The computer was traced to a residence located at 4923 E. Itasca Drive in the City of Superior occupied by Vern Michael Tucci.

DCI obtained a search warrant. On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, DCI Agents, assisted by Investigators from the Superior Police Department, executed the search warrant. Mr. Tucci was home at the time. DCI conducted a preview examination of Tucci’s computer hard drive and located seven known child pornography videos.

Tucci cooperated with agents. Tucci estimated that he had downloaded and viewed approximately 1,500 child pornography videos in the past two years. Tucci was arrested, charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and was transported to the Douglas County Jail where he was booked in.

Questions concerning this case should be directed towards the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
