JURY CONVICTS SHAWANO RESIDENT OF TWO COUNTS
OF FIRST-DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE IN OCONTO COUNTY

 

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has announced that an Oconto County jury last night convicted Daniel Lee Schmidt of two counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide in the May 2009 deaths of Kimberly Rose and her brother, Leonard Marsh, in the Town of Gillett in Oconto County.  Sentencing before the Honorable Michael T. Judge is scheduled for November 26 at 1:00 p.m.  A copy of the criminal complaint issued on September 5, 2012, is available here.

 

This case was investigated by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice -- Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).  Assistant Attorney General Richard J. Dufour is serving as Special Prosecutor in the case.  The Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of Crime Victim Services is providing victim assistance in this case.
