Special Agents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) Partner with Lake Geneva Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff's Office in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Operation


David L. Tarlo, of Lake Geneva, Charged with Five Counts of Possession of Child Pornography


MADISON — On Friday, April 19, 2013, David L. Tarlo, of 415 Cass Street in the City of Lake Geneva, was charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony. A preliminary hearing in this case is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2013, at 2:30 pm in Walworth County.


According to the Criminal Complaint, an Apple iMac computer reportedly used by the defendant was turned over to the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) after images consistent with child pornography were discovered on the computer. A DCI criminal analyst reported that most of the pictures of child pornography located on the computer were viewed in November and December of 2009 and in March of 2011, according to the complaint. In an interview with a DCI special agent, Tarlo admitted to recognizing some of the images found on the computer and admitted to searching for “young girls” on the Internet.


The Lake Geneva Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted in this investigation, are members of Wisconsin's ICAC Task Force. Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office. A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
