Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Partner with the Prairie du Chien Police Department in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Operation

 

Cody Tamling, of Prairie du Chien, Charged with Six Counts of Possession of Child Pornography

 

MADISON — On Wednesday, July 17, 2013, special agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), with assistance from the Prairie du Chien Police Department, executed a search warrant at the home of Cody Paul Calvin Tamling, located at 126 North Main Street in Prairie du Chien. Seized as a result of the search were computers and cell phones. 

 

According to the criminal complaint, during an interview with a DCI special agent, Tamling admitted to performing searches on the Internet for pornography, which included pornographic images of children, and the defendant admitted to downloading images and video of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct. A review of a hard drive from a computer belonging to the defendant uncovered images consistent with child pornography, according to the complaint.

 

On Wednesday, July 24, 2013, Tamling was charged with six counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony. A preliminary hearing in this case has been scheduled for August 6, 2013, at 2 pm in Crawford County.

 

The Prairie du Chien Police Department is a member of Wisconsin's ICAC Task Force. Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Crawford County District Attorney's Office. A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
