Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Partner in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Operation


Scott A. Russell, of Mazomanie, Charged with Four Counts of Possession of Child Pornography


MADISON — On Thursday, July 11, 2013, special agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at the home of Scott A. Russell, located at 312 Crocker Street in Mazomanie.


According to the Criminal Complaint, during a forensic preview by a DCI analyst of a hard drive from a laptop computer seized at the home, images consistent with child pornography were located. On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, Russell was charged with four counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony. A status conference in this case is scheduled for August 12, 2013, at 1:30 pm.

Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Dane County District Attorney's Office.  A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence.  The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
