Joint News Release from the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office, Village of Plover Police Department and the Department of Justice--Division of Criminal Investigation


State and Local Agencies Investigating Homicide


MADISON — On Wednesday, August 7, at 11:12 am, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate what was reported to be a burned vehicle, located in the Town of Harrison.  Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered the body of a deceased woman inside of the vehicle.


An autopsy to determine a cause of death is pending; however, investigators consider the death a homicide.  The victim is a 36-year-old woman from Plover.  Her identity is not being released at this time. 


The Wisconsin State Crime Lab, in coordination with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Plover Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), has responded to a second location, an apartment in the Village of Plover, to conduct further investigation.
