Attorney General Van Hollen to Address Attendees of "Wisconsin Serving Victims of Crime Conference" and Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Symposium

 

Van Hollen to Speak in Oshkosh and Madison

 

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is pleased to join conference attendees and others in Oshkosh for this year's Wisconsin Serving Victims of Crime Conference, being held at the Oshkosh Convention Center from August 21 to August 23, 2013. Attorney General Van Hollen will deliver his remarks at 8:40 am on Wednesday, August 21, at the Oshkosh Convention Center, located at One North Main Street.

 

On Friday, August 23, 2013, Attorney General will join Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, Wisconsin Department of Corrections Secretary Edward Wall, Director of State Courts Office Director John Voelker, and State Representative Garey Bies for the symposium, “Treatment Alternatives and Diversion -- Effective Criminal Justice Reform Through Research-Based Practices,” being held at The Madison Concourse Hotel on August 23rd from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Attorney General Van Hollen’s remarks begin at 12:45 pm.

 

Faculty presenting at this symposium will discuss how TAD was implemented, lessons learned, and ways to allow for the expansion of the positive impacts of these pretrial justice projects throughout Wisconsin. Speakers also will present the building blocks counties and tribes statewide can use in their efforts to keep communities safe through the more effective use of resources.
