Ladysmith Resident Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison for Physical and Sexual Abuse of Teenagers

 

MADISON — Rusk County District Attorney Andrea Nodolf and Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced that on April 4, 2013, Christopher Swanson was sentenced to prison.  A jury found Christopher Swanson guilty in October of 2012 of multiple counts of physical and sexual abuse involving three teenage girls during the summer of 2011 through April of 2012.  Rusk County Circuit Court Judge Steven P. Anderson sentenced Christopher Swanson to a 45-year prison sentence.  He is to serve the initial 30 years incarcerated in a Wisconsin State Prison and the remaining 15 years on extended supervision.

The convictions and dispositions were the result of an investigation by the Ladysmith Police Department and the Rusk County Department of Health & Human Services.

 

District Attorney Andrea Nodolf and Assistant Attorney General Karie Cattanach, as a special prosecutor, represented the State for Rusk County.  Rusk County Crime Victim Services provided victim services in this case.
