MADISON — On September 7, 2012, at approximately 3:10 am, the Argyle-Adams Fire Department was dispatched to a residential house fire in the Village of Argyle, Lafayette County at 402 Oak Street. Multiple agencies responded to assist, including: Argyle EMS, Blanchardville Fire Department and EMS, Green County EMS, Argyle Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
Three people have died in connection with this fire; one person is in the hospital in critical condition. Two other individuals were treated and released. At the request of Argyle Police Department, the State Fire Marshal at the Department of Justice -- Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was contacted to assist in the investigation. The Village of Argyle Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Department and the DCI are conducting the investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. The investigation remains open and ongoing.
