MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is pleased to join members of the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee on Thursday, September 6, 2012, as the principal speaker for the organization's 96th anniversary luncheon. He'll be addressing judges, attorneys and other supporters of the Society.
Van Hollen's remarks are scheduled to begin at 12:45 pm Thursday. He will be speaking at the Italian Community Center, located at 631 East Chicago Street in Milwaukee.
Van Hollen says, “I am grateful for the opportunity to address the people who make the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee work. I have a great deal of respect for the organization and for the tremendous work it does to protect the legal interests of the city's most vulnerable residents.”
Founded in 1916, the Society was developed “to do all things necessary for the prevention of injustice.” According to its website, it is “one of the nation's oldest, continuously operating, public interest law firms,” providing free legal services to 8,000 of Milwaukee's residents who are most in need.
