Ceremony TOMORROW outside of the Wisconsin State Capitol
MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen will deliver remarks tomorrow at the Law Enforcement Torch Run kickoff ceremony for the Flame of Hope, as it begins to journey across Wisconsin, ahead of opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics Summer Games. The Torch Run kickoff is scheduled from noon to 1:00 p.m. tomorrow at the corner of East Mifflin and North Pinckney Streets, outside of the Wisconsin State Capitol. Formal remarks will begin at 12:30 p.m.
“I encourage supporters of Special Olympics to join us in recognizing these dedicated athletes and cheer them toward another round of successful games,” Attorney General Van Hollen said. “Having been involved with Special Olympics for several years, I'm always inspired by the determination of the athletes, the sense of community and the commitment to the cause.”
The Law Enforcement Torch Run will take the Flame of Hope from Madison to the Opening Ceremonies of the State Summer Games in Stevens Point that begin on June 7, 2012. The event is organized by Special Olympics Wisconsin
