Business Owner Charged with Multiple Felonies is Bound Over for Trial

MADISON — On January 23, 2012, Kent Haluska appeared before Winnebago County Court Commissioner John Kuech for a scheduled preliminary hearing. Mr. Haluska is charged in Winnebago County with seven felony counts, including Four counts of Identity Theft, Two counts of Forgery and One count of Felony theft of more than $2500 but less than $5000.

Mr. Haluska waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was therefore bound over for trial on all seven counts. An arraignment has been set for February 2, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. in Winnebago County Circuit Court.

Mr. Haluska is presumed innocent and the State will be required to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at a trial in this matter. The State is represented by Assistant Attorney General Richard J. Dufour.
