MADISON — On Thursday, August 25, 2011, Special Agents from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), along with members of the Janesville Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Scott A. Selvog, located at 2217 West Burbank Avenue, Janesville.
Computers, numerous items of computer media, and miscellaneous documents were seized during the search.
Upon a review of some items of computer media, child pornography was recovered.
DCI agents obtained the search warrant after receiving electronic evidence of child pornography having been downloaded onto a computer at Selvog's address.
According to the complaint, Selvog told investigators during the search that a computer in his bedroom contained about 100 images of child pornography.
Selvog was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, a felony.
He is scheduled for an adjourned initial appearance on September 7, 2011, in Rock County Circuit Court.
The Janesville Police Department is a member of Wisconsin's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
