MADISON – Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has appointed David Matthews to the position of DCI Deputy Administrator and Jody Wormet to Special Agent In Charge of the Wisconsin Statewide Information Center.
David Matthews is a veteran officer of 32 years. His law enforcement career began in the Air Force Military Police and as a Special Agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Following military service Matthews entered Wisconsin state service with the State Patrol in 1985 where he served as a Trooper until 1988 when he transferred to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation. Since 1988 Matthews has worked in the investigative areas of narcotics, money laundering, computer crimes, and Internet Crimes Against Children. He has most recently served as the Director of Field Operations for the Western Region of Wisconsin in addition to program management of the Attorney General’s ICAC Task Force and the Wisconsin Statewide Intelligence Center. He is married to his wife Robin and has four children and six grandchildren.
“Dave Matthews is exceptional law enforcement professional with a great range of experience,” said DCI Administrator Ed Wall. “I’m pleased to have him as the new Deputy Administrator.”
Jody Wormet started his career in criminal justice with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Agent in Beloit. In 1995 Wormet joined the DeForest Police Department working as a patrol officer. He was promoted to Detective in 1998 and worked investigations until his appointment as a Special Agent with DCI in 2001 working narcotics enforcement in the Eau Claire Field Office. In 2005, Wormet transferred to the Technical Services Unit in Madison and began working at the Wisconsin Statewide Intelligence Center in 2006.
“Jody Wormet is one of the hardest working law enforcement professionals I know,” said Wall. “He will be a great addition to the DCI management team.”
Both Matthews and Wormet began their new assignments on May 8, 2011.
