PLOVER – On Thursday, July 7, 2011, Special Agents with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, assisted by the Plover Police Department and the Stevens Point Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Joshua Steward, located at 2011 Windsor Ct, #2, Plover, Portage County, WI. According to the criminal complaint, a DCI analyst conducted an on-scene search of one of Steward's computer's hard-drive and located numerous files containing child pornography.
According to the criminal complaint, Steward stated he did not download child pornography, but has seen it on his computer and wouldn't be surprised if law enforcement found 3 or 4 files containing child pornography.
Steward was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of child pornography in violation of Wis. Stat. § 948.12(1m), a class D felony.
Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Portage County District Attorney's Office.
