LACROSSE – Attorney J.B. Van Hollen announced today that LaCrosse County Sheriff's Deputy Trisha Stratman has been charged with one count of Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle in connection with the death of Brandon Jennings in a traffic crash on July 18, 2010, in the Town of Onalaska. Stratman will appear for an initial appearance in LaCrosse County Circuit Court, Branch 5, before the Honorable DaleT. Pasell, on Friday, February4, 2011, at 1:30p.m.
The Criminal Complaint, issued January 19, 2011, alleges Stratman caused the death of Brandon Jennings by the negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
A criminal complaint is a document accusing a person of a violation of criminal law. A defendant enjoys a presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
