Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen Announces Appointment of Dana Brueck as Wisconsin Department of Justice Communications Officer


MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today his appointment of Dana Brueck as the Department's Communications Officer.


“I am pleased Dana will be joining the Justice team as my spokesman and the Department's Communications Officer. She brings a wealth of communications experience and a passion for public service, law enforcement, and Justice issues,” Attorney General Van Hollen said.


Dana leaves WMTV NBC 15 in Madison, where she has worked for almost seven years, as a weekday reporter and weekend anchor. Dana has been the recipient of multiple awards from the Associated Press and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and has been the recipient of a regional Edward R. Murrow award. She has worked previously in Traverse City, Michigan and Rapid City, South Dakota.


"I am very much looking forward to serving the people of Wisconsin in this capacity, and I thank Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen for this opportunity,” said Dana Brueck.


Dana holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism. She will begin her duties at Justice on Monday, August 15 at an annual salary of $78,000.00 per year.
