Lafayette County Sheriff Re-Elected Chair of the WI Law Enforcement Standards Board

MADISON - Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley was re-elected Chair of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board by members of the Board at its regularly scheduled meeting on September 8, 2010. Pedley has served on the Law Enforcement Standards Board since 1992, and is in his fifth term as Chair of that board.

Terry Smoczyk, a Sergeant with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, was re-elected Vice-Chair of the board. Sgt. Smoczyk is serving her second 4-year term on the board and her second term as Vice-Chair.

The Law Enforcement Standards Board establishes the standards for law enforcement officers in Wisconsin and develops curriculum requirements for preparatory, recertification, and legislatively mandated law enforcement training courses and programs for all of Wisconsin's law enforcement officers.
