Fond du Lac Woman Convicted of Falsely Assuming to act as a State Court Judge

FOND DU LAC– Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Kristine Flynn, age 51, appeared before the Honorable Judge Karen Seifert in Fond Du Lac County Circuit Court.  Flynn entered pleas of guilty to three felony charges of Falsely Assuming to Act as a Public Officer as a Habitual Criminal.  The matter is set for a sentencing hearing on November 12, 2010.  At sentencing Flynn faces a maximum of 22 years and 6 months of imprisonment and fines of $30,000.

The charges arose out of an investigation conducted by the State of Wisconsin Capitol Police Department. According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s criminal complaint, Flynn created three fake court orders all purporting to be signed by retired Circuit Court Judge Steven Weinke. The fake court orders were all designed to grant Flynn the custody of a disabled child along with the child’s financial assets. In a letter written by Flynn, she estimates that the child has $250,000 that she needs to get her hands on.
