Preliminary Hearings Set For Two Juneau County Men Accused of Repeated Sexual Assaults of Children

 

MADISON - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced that on Wednesday October 6, 2010, Preliminary Hearings were set for Donald P. Coughlin and Daniel J. Coughlin who are charged with repeated sexual assaults against children in Juneau County Circuit Court. Circuit Court Judge John Roemer set the two cases for separate preliminary hearings on January 31, 2011. .

 

The charges are the result of a joint investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Juneau County Sheriff's Department. “Investigation and prosecution of cases involving those who prey on children are a high priority of the Wisconsin Department of Justice and we will continue to assist local law enforcement and prosecutors in child maltreatment investigations,” Van Hollen said. Donald Coughlin and Daniel Coughlin were arrested by members of the Juneau County Sheriff's Department and Special Agents from DCI. They made their initial appearance on September 14, 2010. A criminal complaint is a document alleging violation of the criminal law and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
