MADISON - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen today joined law enforcement officers and leaders from across Wisconsin to participate in Wisconsin's Law Enforcement Memorial Service. The Memorial Service is an annual event held near Wisconsin's Law Enforcement Memorial located on the State Capitol grounds at the top of South Hamilton Street. The event recognizes Wisconsin's fallen law enforcement officers. It is further dedicated to those who live and serve.
While making remarks at the ceremony, Van Hollen said, "Nothing else government does would make sense without first providing safety to the people. The liberty we hold dear is dependent upon the continued service of law enforcement officers."
Attorney General Van Hollen also participated in a similar ceremony in Milwaukee County this past Wednesday.
