Statement on Asian Carp and Wisconsin's Continuing Efforts

"Reports of Carp progressing past the barrier is what we've feared."

"Before the Asian Carp was found to have crossed the barrier, it was plain to me that this was going to happen.  That's why, months ago, we asked the Supreme Court to close the locks.  The Court declined to hear our case, but nothing is stopping the Obama Administration from taking bold action now to protect the Great Lakes.  Its time to close the locks.

My staff has been working collaboratively with Attorneys General offices in other states to consider the next legal steps.  We will continue our fight."
