FOND DU LAC - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Taycheedah inmate Kristine Flynn appeared in court and entered a not guilty plea and a plea of not guilty by reason of metal disease or defect before Fond du Lac County Circuit Court, Branch 4. The court appointed the Wisconsin Forensic Unit to evaluate Flynn's mental status.
Flynn was charged in the preparation of fraudulent Homestead Tax Credit forms where she claimed that she was living in private residential rental properties when in reality she was incarcerated.
A hearing on the NGI evaluation will be held on August 11, 2010. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
This matter was investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and the Wisconsin State Capitol Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Eric D. Defort represents the State of Wisconsin this case.
