Jason A. Van Dyke of West Allis Arrested
WEST ALLIS - On May 22, 2010 the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a referral from the Suffolk County, New York Police Department, requesting assistance in an ongoing child pornography investigation.
On July 23, 2010 following an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Suffolk County Police Department a search warrant was executed with the assistance of the West Allis Police Department. According to the Affidavit in Support of the Criminal Complaint a preview of Van Dyke's laptop by a WI Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation computer analyst located between 2,000 and 3,000 images of child pornography.
Van Dyke was arrested and charged federally with 1 count of distribution of Child Pornography and 1 count of Possession of Child Pornography and was transported to the West Allis Police Department. His initial appearance was at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 23 before Judge Callahan. His next appearance will be at 2:30 p.m. today before Judge Goodstein for a bail hearing.
