RIPON On May 14, 2009, law enforcement officers from the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Ripon Police Department, and Fond du Lac Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Leo H. Eberhardt, Jr., located at 602 Woodside Avenue, City of Ripon, Fond du Lac County, WI.
During a search of a computer hard disk drive, sexually explicit images of children (child pornography) were found. According to the criminal complaint, during an interview with a DCI special agent, Eberhardt, Jr. admitted to having downloaded child pornography files using Peer-to-Peer file sharing software.
Eberhardt, Jr. was taken into custody for a probation violation, and was charged on January 28, 2010 with 21 counts of Possession of Child Pornography by the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's Office.
