Wisconsin Department of Justice Agents Partner With Forest County Sheriff's Department in Internet Crimes Against Children Operation
CRANDON – On Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at approximately 3 p.m. the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Forest County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at 11670 Old 8 Road in the City of Crandon. According to the criminal complaint, the purpose of the warrant was searching for items relating to Possession of Child Pornography.
Two computers were searched and seized. According to the complaint, the computers were located in common use areas of the residence. Evidence later located on the computers included 15 images of what was believed to be child pornography, according to the criminal complaint. Discussions with the home's owner directed the ownership of these photos to Gregg Wilson, who resides at the residence several days per week and who is the primary user of the computers.
A DCI Special Agent interviewed Mr. Wilson. According to the complaint, Gregg Wilson did admit that he had downloaded approximately 20 images of Child Pornography and that he kept and maintained the images out of curiosity.
Wilson was charged with 7 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Forest County District Attorney's Office.
