WI DOJ Assists ICE In "Operation Cross Check Midwest"

 

Criminal Illegal Gang Members Arrested in Northeastern Wisconsin

All In Federal Custody

 

GREEN BAY – Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today another successful criminal illegal alien arrest operation in partnership with the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) undertaken in cooperation with and assistance from Wisconsin Department of Justice Special Agents and agents from the Lake Winnebago Area Meg. The recently concluded operation which was conducted during the past three days resulted in 24 arrests of individuals who are now in federal custody. This operation expanded over the majority of counties in Northeastern Wisconsin.

 

“This latest operation undertaken throughout Northeastern Wisconsin continues to demonstrate the depth and breadth of the threat to Wisconsin communities, big and small, urban and rural, posed by criminal illegal immigrants,” Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said.  “Our cooperative efforts are yielding results that make our state safer. I am grateful to our law enforcement partners in local law enforcement and the attention and leadership of our federal partners in ICE. I am pleased, as well for our citizens and law enforcement, this concludes another safe operation,” said Van Hollen.

 

Operation Cross Check Midwest targeted individuals with violent felony or felony drug convictions.

 

Other successful ICE-DOJ-Local Law Enforcement operations have been undertaken in Milwaukee, Kenosha, Racine, Waukesha, Dodge, Jefferson, Taylor, Marathon, Eau Claire, Shawano, Lincoln, Langlade, Portage, Clark and Walworth Counties.
