MINOCQUA – Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Oneida County District Attorney Michael Bloom has charged William R. Schmidt in a criminal complaint with First Degree Intentional Homicide for the murder of his wife, Lori J. Schmidt. The lifeless body of Lori J. Schmidt was discovered on 06/17/2010. The autopsy results were received by District Attorney Bloom on August 19, 2010. Pathologist Dr. Susan Venuti determined that the cause of death was Homicide by Unspecified Means.
William R. Schmidt has been in custody on a parole hold since he turned himself in to Sheboygan County Sheriff Department personnel on 06/24/2010.
