Philip A. Borthwick of Eleva Arrested
EAU CLAIRE - On April 4, 2010 at approximately 4:56 p.m., Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at S 12093 Hillview Road, in the Town of Pleasant Valley, Eau Claire County, WI. No one was home upon law enforcement arrival at the residence. Law enforcement breached the door to the residence to secure the scene.
During a search of computer hard drives and storage devices, in excess of 60 images of child pornography and three movie files containing child pornography were located.
According to the criminal complaint, Borthwick was interviewed, and admitted that he had received emails or picture sharing of images of child pornography.
Borthwick was arrested and charged with 12 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography, One Count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child Distribution and One Count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child Possess with Intent to Distribute. Borthwick was transported to the Eau Claire County Jail for booking/processing.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m.
