WI DOJ Agents Partner With Everest Metro and Rothschild Police Departments in Internet Crimes Against Children Operation

Tyler H. Morris of Schofield Arrested

SCHOFIELD - On Monday, November 16, 2009, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Special Agents with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), assisted by personnel with the Everest Metro Police Department and the Rothschild Police Department, conducted a search warrant at 429 Moreland Ave. in Schofield, the residence of Tyler H. Morris,  for the Possession of Child Pornography.  During a search of the residence, DCI conducted a preview search of two computer hard-drives; the first was located in the living room of the residence, and the second was located in the basement of the house, in Tyler Morris's bedroom. 

During a search of computer hard drives and storage devices, sexually explicit images of children (child pornography) were located. Seized as a result of the search were 2 computer hard-drives, documents and memory cards. 

According to the criminal complaint, Morris was subsequently interviewed. Morris stated he has viewed child pornography, and he has some files saved on his computer which contain child pornography. Morris stated he may have been curious about child pornography and looked for it once or twice in the past.  Most of the child pornography he has downloaded has been when he is looking for adult pornography. According to the complaint Morris estimated he has 5 child pornography videos saved on his personal computer, which he last viewed approximately four months ago, before he had computer problems. Morris thinks he may have downloaded one child pornography video on the family computer in the living room about two months ago.

Morris was arrested and charged with 5 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Morris' arraignment is scheduled for approximately 1 p.m. today

A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
