MADISON - Jeff Kostner, a Special Agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Training Officers Association (LETOA) as the Law Enforcement Training Officer of the Year.
"Jeff is a dedicated professional who is committed to public service," said Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen. "It is our mission to assist law enforcement, and to do so with the highest level of professionalism and competence. Jeff personifies this mission, and he is very deserving of this recognition."
Jeff Kostner has been a Special Agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation for over 20 years. Special Agent Kostner has an expertise in the area of Dangerous Drug Identification, Drug Awareness, Methamphetamine and Clandestine Laboratories, Marijuana Manufacturing and Dangerous Drug Field Testing. He is certified by the DEA and OSHA to enter and seize meth labs. Special Agent Kostner lectures and teaches all over the state on the topic of Dangerous Drugs and Meth Labs for the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Kostner has presented training for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Wisconsin State Patrol Academy, Chippewa Valley Technical College and the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College on a variety of topics, including Drug Awareness, Firearms, Deadly Force Decision Making and Defense Tactics.
Special Agent Kostner earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Training Officers Association promotes professionalism in law enforcement through training and encourages cooperation among law enforcement training officers.
