NEW LONDON - On Thursday, July 2, 2009, law enforcement officers from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, United States Department of Homeland Security, Waupaca County Sheriff's Office, and the New London Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Russell K. Burg and Jana J. Burg, in the Town of Mukwa in Waupaca County.
As a result of a preview of a laptop computer hard drive, sexually explicit videos of children (child pornography) were located.
Located and seized as a result of the search warrant execution were one iMac computer, computer hard drives, a credit card, thumb drives, optical disks and floppy diskettes, and miscellaneous documents.
According to the criminal complaint, Burg stated that he views the images and videos of child pornography as a "fantasy." Burg stated that he has been viewing these types of images and videos for approximately four to five years. Burg stated that his preferred age range is between the ages of 13 and 16 years old.
Mr. Burg was arrested and charged with 8 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Waupaca County District Attorney's Office.
