Brian J. Gierczak of Green Bay Arrested
GREEN BAY - Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation along with the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety arrested Brian J. Gierczak on three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at approximately 11:40 a.m., law enforcement officers from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety initiated a search warrant at the residence of Brian J. Gierczak located at 2802 Viking Drive, Apt. 2A, Ashwaubenon, WI.
As a result of the search, a computer was located in Gierczak's bedroom. The main hard drive of the computer was removed and previewed forensically on the scene by a DCI Internet Crimes Against Children Analyst. During the preview the analyst found that there were over 70 child pornographic videos sorted on the main hard drive.
Gierczak was interviewed during the contact, during which he admitted to downloading and saving the child pornography videos using peer to peer file sharing programs.
At approximately 1:17 p.m., Gierczak was arrested for possession of child pornography. He was transported by Officer Brady Hutchison of the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety to the Brown County Jail.
On Friday, January 23, 2009 Gierczak appeared in Brown County Circuit Court and was held on $25,000 bond for 3 counts of possession of Child Pornography.
Questions concerning this case should be directed towards the Brown County District Attorney's Office.
