Wisconsin Department of Justice Agents Partner With Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents in Southeast Wisconsin Operation
WAUKESHA - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today the successful arrest of Victoriano Cano-Hernandez. Cano-Hernandez is a sexual predator who was wanted by ICE for illegal re-entry into the United States following a 1992 deportation. In addition, Cano-Hernandez has a sexual battery conviction in California.
Cano-Hernandez was taken into custody by a state Justice Department agent and a federal agent without incident and transported by ICE to Milwaukee.
"The identification and arrest of illegal aliens who engage in criminal activity and are threats to Wisconsin communities is a top priority of mine," said Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen. "The success of this operation speaks for itself. I would especially like to thank the agents involved. It is only through their dedication and persistence that Mr. Cano-Hernandez was ultimately taken into custody."
Under Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen's leadership, the Wisconsin Department of Justice has become a more active partner and participant in these cooperative enforcement operations.
Cano-Hernandez is currently in the custody of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.
