BLANCHARDVILLE - The Wisconsin Department of Justice State Fire Marshall has responded to the structure fire on Main Street in Blanchardville, Wisconsin. This fire resulted in fatalities and property loss.
The Blanchardville Police Department issued a statement earlier this afternoon regarding the matter. A copy of that release is attached.
This remains an ongoing investigation. The Department will release information as it becomes available.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said, "This tragedy is truly unfortunate. My thoughts go out to the families and the community of Blanchardville, particularly at this time of year, as they and we respond to this fire and its aftermath. I commend the response from neighboring communities and our other state and federal partners to the needs of their Blanchardville neighbors."
