Shawn Mark Wettig of Woodville Arrested
EAU CLAIRE - On December 2, 2009 a Special Agent from the Eau Claire Office of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Eau Claire Police Department arrested Shawn M. Wettig after Wettig, according to the criminal complaint, arrived at a Kwik Trip in the City of Eau Claire to meet with who Wettig thought was a 15 year old girl.
An undercover DCI agent had been chatting on line with Wettig and, according to the complaint, Wettig agreed to meet the 15 year old girl to have sexual intercourse with her.
Wettig was arrest as he was leaving the Kwik Trip and taken to the Eau Claire County Jail.
According to the criminal complaint, during an interview with Wettig he admitted he was at the Kwik Trip to meet with a 15 year old girl and to have sex with her.
Wettig was arrested and charged with One Count of Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime and One Count of Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child Under 16 Years of Age.
