MADISON Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen issued the following statement regarding the sentencing of Roger Smith to 30 years for the manufacture of child pornography:
Im proud of the work of the Department of Justices Division of Criminal Investigation agents who worked with the Iowa County Sheriffs Department on the investigation of and arrest of Roger Smith of Hollandale, WI.
Wisconsins children are safer tonight. One more child pornographer will victimize no more.
I want to thank our Federal partners at the United States Attorneys Office for the Western District of Wisconsin who successfully prosecuted the case.
The sentence that Mr. Smith received is certainly appropriate.
