MADISON - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen met today with local legislators, law enforcement leaders, and community leaders at a Fond du Lac County law enforcement roundtable hosted by State Senator Carol Roessler. Public safety officials from throughout Fond du Lac County attended the roundtable and discussed a host of topics including DNA forensics, immigration, and Internet Crimes Against Children. Concealed carry permission for retired law enforcement officers and public safety grants were also topics of discussion.
I am appreciative of Senator Roessler and her efforts in organizing and hosting this law enforcement roundtable," Van Hollen said. Events like these are excellent opportunities for local law enforcement to share with me and other state officials the public safety and law enforcement concerns in their community - and how the state officials and lawmakers can assist. It is also an opportunity for me to share with Fond du Lac area law enforcement and community leaders what we are doing in the Department of Justice."
Senator Roessler said, I am pleased that Attorney General Van Hollen has reached out to members of the Fond du Lac County criminal justice system and other local leaders to hear concerns from our area. Discussions like these are critical to both legislators and the Department of Justice to work together with local leaders to create solutions."
