EAU CLAIRE - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen met today with law enforcement leaders, elected officials, community leaders, judges, and public safety officials from throughout Eau Claire County at a law enforcement roundtable hosted by State Representative Terry Moulton. Other State legislators attending included Representative Jeff Smith and Senator Pat Krietlow. Topics discussed at the roundtable included methamphetamines, HR-218, identity theft, illegal immigration, and internet crimes against children. The attendees also discussed various options for cooperation amongst jurisdictions to fight crime in Eau Claire County.
"I would like to extend a thank you to Representative Terry Moulton for organizing this successful roundtable. I would also like to thank all of the participants for attending and taking part in the discussions. Every county and community in Wisconsin faces different public safety challenges," Van Hollen said. "Having the opportunity to listen to local law enforcement, community leaders and elected officials from Eau Claire County lends itself to a meaningful dialogue as to how the Department of Justice and state government can better assist Eau Claire County."
"I thank Attorney General Van Hollen for coming to Eau Claire County and listening to public safety concerns from our law enforcement and community leaders," said Moulton. "Cooperation amongst all levels of government can only prove beneficial to the safety of Eau Claire County residents."
