The Division’s Gaming Enforcement initiative operates in conjunction with state and local law enforcement to investigate allegations of illegal gambling of statewide scope or significance, as well as providing education and resources to municipalities and business groups such as the Tavern League of Wisconsin. Special Agents investigate complaints ranging from illegal lotteries to sports betting to bookmaking, as well as investigating allegations of criminal activity in existing forms of legal gaming in the State of Wisconsin. Special Agents utilize a network of resources within law enforcement and within the regulatory structure of the gaming industry in their investigation of illegal gambling. The Division routinely works with the Department of Revenue, the Department of Administration, the Division of the Lottery and numerous local law enforcement agencies to accomplish its mission.
