Executive Assistant
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen appointed Mr. Stensberg to be the Executive Assistant for the Wisconsin Department of Justice effective November 19, 2007. As Executive Assistant, Mr. Stensberg serves as a principal advisor to the Attorney General and a member of the Department's Executive Team. Mr. Stensberg most recently served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Stensberg began his career in state service as legislative aide in the Wisconsin Assembly. He joined former Governor Tommy G. Thompson's Executive Office staff in 1988, serving as Special Assistant to the Governor until 1995 when he was named Executive Assistant at the Department of Corrections. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Stensberg served at the Department of Corrections for over ten years as Executive Assistant; Policy Advisor in the Division of Community Corrections; and as a Classification Specialist in the Bureau of Classification and Movement.
